Girls' talks, peeing, long dresses, and... Rome

A funny story:

...a friend of mine was telling me that she lived in Rome when she was a teenager, and she had this really fabulous friend who wore long dresses, of the sort that were really popular at the time. Anyway, this girl was on a date and was too modest to tell the guy that she had to go to the bathroom—and she didn’t want to interrupt the flirtation—so she just peed as she walked down the street. My friend asked her, “Well, weren’t you afraid that he would smell the pee?” And the fabulous Italian girl said, “No, all of Rome smells like pee.”[both laugh]

Hurts - How I Get Dressed

Being an anti-fan of the British accent, don't know why I found these voices so charming and sexy. Could it be because of what they were talking about, and not the sound they made?

1989

Is the year when it "launched" the presence of the attractive young men that I know (personally or not). And I've just realised they all have remarkable sense of music. What a coincidence.

V-Day

~ LOVE in my pocket ~

I saw Valentine's Day being called "V-Day" somewhere and all of a sudden felt (a little bit) flattered. Though I'm not a fan of Valentine's.

So, I decided to write something in order to make it real "V".

I had a dream last night. In which M was. He somehow turned out to be the relative of a family friend, her son-in-law or something. It's really complicated. Her husband had been with M's Mom before her, and she got pregnant with M. So M was not his (real) Dad's son, and he was half Vietnamese *rofl*. I wonder if it's because I took a few time before bed last night thinking about him that the dream was created. It just feels strange how related we were, in the imagined world of mine. I ran into him a lot. We talked. Nothing happened, we just talked. But we weren't far apart. He was always... at hand.

I realised the letter M is built of two "I" and one "V" in between *chuckle*.

I've just joined Fashiolista. I'm so gonna hit "" as many times as I can today to celebrate V-Day. Check the site out and join me!

Last but not least, the London Fashion Week shows will be on from 18 to 23 of February. Can't wait to see what these designers are bringing to us: sass & bide, Daks, Jaeger London, Issa London, Clements Ribeiro, Acne, Nicole Farhi, Vivien Westwood, Michael van der Ham, & many others. Too bad there's no Alexander Wang, I'm having a crush on him recently.

Scandinavian faces

(Inspired by a blog post on This chick's got style)

"All good things come from Scandinavia", said This chick's got style. And I couldn't agree more. Scan-di-na-vi-a, it sounds like a floating cloud to me, so soft, so gentle, and a little bit mysterious. When it comes to fashion, that seems to be a perfect combination.

Cap Ou Pas Cap [?] is reviewing below some Scandinavian names that have made their way far outside their native land.

Sleepless in Leeds

It's 6AM in the morning and I'm still wide awake. Too bad it is not because of any romantic reason (blame your sense of humour if you don't get this line). I'm just having a light (but very unpleasant) headache.

However, it is good that finally I'm catching up with my blog.

First thing I did when just got on the internet is typing Stylist.co.uk, for my favourite magazine (won Britain's Best New Magazine), and on Places, I saw an article introducing "the Sexiest Stays in South-East Asia", in which Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is at No.1. A friend of mine works there (as I noticed from her Facebook status updates about some event she was co-ordinating for the resort) but I have never really looked for information or photos. Amazing place, now I see. And it's more amazing that I learned about a nice place in my home country from a British new magazine.

Suddenly this reminds me of a couple of times when I heard people (Vietnames students or graduates staying as Tier 4 Post Study Work) making fun of how "unknown" Vietnam is to Europeans. To be honest, I have not met that many white people who have no idea what Vietnam is. [As I remember, the only people I met who asked me if we Vietnamese speak Chinese were some Asian dudes in a small and kind of boring international exhibition tent among the Welcome Week events of my university.]

So, guys, we are definitely known. Or, at least, by the Brits.

I ♥ Tobacco

Tobacco here is not for smokers only, it is for everyone, especially ones who are fans of beige.brown.& yellow.

Light shade - more yellow

Dark shade - more brown
[ & I LOVE the jumper!!! ]

This one is black&white - not tobacco
[ but it's too good to keep it off my blog ]

SALE on cap.ou.pas.cap[?]

I bought a vintage cape similar to this Jaeger London cape cardigan a few weeks ago (I will post photos of it when I've got the proper camera from my friend). Turns out it doesn't suit me (because of my height - yes it's a shame, I should have known capes aren't for small people, now lesson learnt). So, drop me a message if you're interested; I'll ship worldwide - it is £30 + shipping fee.

Sorry! You're NOT on the list! # new Facebook friendlists settings

I've noticed that some of my friends on Facebook have set their friendlists on sidebar, with "categories". My attention absolutely goes to "top friends" or "close friends". Well, I wanted to see if I belong to those lists. Turns out a friend who I've known for seven years, used to be closeby when he was enduring one of the toughest times of his life, and have always been following and supportive to every steps he makes, has a list of "top friends" which includes about twenty faces, and I'm not among them. I totally don't take it as an offense to my feelings. This dude has so many friends (more than 2000). So I really don't expect to be in the "top friend" list. But, I just wish he, a person who has such many friends, and has been close to any of them at some point in this entire life, had not set his friendlists that way. It kind of reminds me of the V.I.P lists that most bars and restaurants hold, they know who's on their lists, and the people on the lists know that they are, but there is no point for the people who are not the list to be reminded, on documents, that they are not.
A sweet surprise is, a dude I'm friends with for only a few months now, includes me in his "close friends" list, among a couple of others. I am flattered. I even started to feel bad about the times I shouted at him for making mistakes (he knows I always love him though).
I just hope not any "normal" friend of his is writing a post like this on their blog right now.

H&M SALE

My dear friends,

Christmas SALE is over. But I still can't help getting on Favourties and browsing through SALE tabs on those websites. Thanks to that, I found such lovely items on H&M tonight.

Reviewing the pictures makes me feel bad about myself not being able to crop, rotate, and put the seperate pictures together into one with maybe some illustration to make the post look nicer. Should I add "learning Photoshop" into my New Year Resolutions now? ~.~
